following paper examines different aspects of grand parenting today. Being a Grandparent Today Because there is a lot of information and realities connected with being a grandparent today
it should be noted that not all relevant issues can be discussed in the short space herein. For example, there are issues connected with grand parenting as it relates to
homosexual couples, grand parenting in various cultures, grand parents as the primary custodial figures, and the depths of grand parents through divorce of parents and grandparents. The paper will look
at various information obtained which, in reality, only touches on the intricate conditions of grand parenting today. In one article a man recalls his own grandfather and then his
experience with becoming a grandfather. He notes how things have clearly changed. He recalls his grandfather as a stern man who was essentially rather rough, and perhaps only a figure
of knowledge and wisdom, not a man who was to be fully embraced when he was a child. Today he notes how, "Grandparenting has changed a lot. I have done
things with my grandchildren that my own grandparents could not have done with me: shot hoops, played football, traveled to Africa, attended concerts" (, 2007; 3). Grandparents are people who
are living longer and of better health than previous Buchanan generations and so they are more apt to be actively involved in a grandchilds life than they were in previous
