anytime, with ideas that can be easily worked out. However, we as writers or artists, often find ourselves getting in the way of our own creativity. We demand things from
ourselves and we have visions that do not always meet with out expectations when a project is completed. The following paper examines the creative process when an individual gets in
the way of their own creativity. Creativity Creativity is a very delicate and exciting thing for people who possess it. It is tentative and also very energizing as it
seems to be an inspirational reality that drives a person to create something. However, most people do not allow creativity to take its time. We have all heard of writers
block, and perhaps most artists can say they have no ideas and do not feel creative because there is no inspiration, no vision, no idea coming to them. These are
the times when the individual is truly getting in the way of the creative process. Creativity is not something we can call on demand. It is something that must be
allowed to grow. And, when we try to find it, when we try to force that creativity we are only holding back a vision or idea even more. This can
be very discouraging and lead many people to give up on a dream of being an artist or a writer or anything else that calls for the creative process. We
make demands and demands do not mix well with creativity. Creativity is generally something one must sit silently for. This does not mean that the individual should do nothing
until inspired. It simply means to forget the need to be creative, to put it on a back burner so to speak, and allow the creative process to evolve as
