Human development is comprised of more than merely physiological growth; rather, it entails myriad psychological components that provide the foundation upon which an individual matures. Banduras (1986) observational learning theory helps to better define this synergistic coupling, as well as illustrates the ways in which people develop in specific stages. Changes occurring throughout the life span often take diverse forms, rather than follow a consistent, unidirectional course...Whether social behavior is invariant or changes over time depends, partly, on the degree of continuity of social conditions over the time span.
