the value of these intelligent and interactive professionals, and I wanted to be among the ranks of some of the more influential people in this world. I recognized that
teachers impact out lives in many immeasurable ways. Educators impact the communities they serve each day. When learners graduate from high school with a range of learning
skills and knowledge, effectively read and write; apply critical thinking skills; or demonstrate preparedness for the college or university environment, educators have done their jobs. Educators can promote community
interactions, foster positive relationships with businesses and community leaders, and show the value of "giving back" to the community as components of instruction. Educators and administrators can support educational
processes that are based on the connection between what students do in the educational setting and what they will be able to do as members of their communities. Some of
the best teachers in my memory recognized that teaching is more than just a job. Most of these excellent teachers could have had jobs that paid more, that required
