and Meghalaya to the Northeast, the Bay of Bengal to the south, Tripura and Mizoram to the east, and Burma to the southeast (Columbia, 2004). Dhaka is the the
capital city and the largest city in the country, followed closely by Chittagong (Columbia, 2004). Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries
in Southeast Asia and is heavily dependent on agriculture, even though about a third of Bangladesh floods during each years summer monsoon season. Bangladesh occupies the delta region
of large rivers flowing from the Himalayas northwest of the country. The Jamuna river splits the country north to south. The Ganges joins the Jamuna from the west,
and later the Meghna empties into the Jamuna from the east. The result is that Bangladesh is not only subject to flooding from monsoons, but also experiences a large
amount of water that runs over from the large rivers and as a result, agriculture often suffers because of flooding. National
Purpose Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world, and is also significantly overpopulated. As a result, the country is
dependent on external forces and foreign aid, and in response, has created an ideological and structural response to the worlds call for greater support for peacekeeping. The national purpose
