as the low trust levels that are associated with the autocrat leader can result in low levels of motivations and difficult ion management as there may be covert or even
overt resistance. Even if there is not any obviously negative resistance the treatment of employees being unimportant will not result in a positive working environment. In order to achieve
a positive working environment and retain control there should be the combination of the right style of leadership and the application of motivational theory. The democratic leader may be seen
as very different to that of the autocrat. The democratic leader operates by making decision in a different way, consulting the team he has working for him, however, this does
not imply a transfer of power, as the leader is still the decision maker (Goodworth, 1988). This style of leader may also allow members of the team to decide who
undertakes a task and how it is undertaken (Goodworth, 1988). There are two ways a democratic leader may be seen in. The good
leader will nurture and encourage the team members, delegation will still take place, but the leader will still understand and act as the leader with the responsibility for the decision
made. This style of leader will value the input from others, and sees this as adding value to the situation, and used to gain the most benefit to achieve the
