youngster with good technique can easily beat a much larger adult (Badminton is a difficult game). The following examination of badminton skills shows that technique for this sport is varied
and complicated. Stance The player stands in the middle of the court to begin play. This is known as the base position and is recommended for beginners (Badminton).
The player should return to base position after each shot in order to prepare for the return shot (Badminton). The player should stand with the feet about a shoulder wide
apart and with slightly bent knees. The player should lean forward slightly, with weight on the balls of the feet. This stance prepares the player for an immediate push off
to run to return the shuttle (Vega). The bent body increases the impulse toward movement because there is more flexion and therefore more muscles employed in the initial momentum (Vega).
The player should have the hands slightly higher than the waist. This position is referred as the "ready" position. As well as being balanced, with the knees slightly bent, the
racquet leg should be forward, and the back straight (Badminton). From this position, the player is ready to move in any direction, and perform any kind of shot (Badminton).
Strokes Beginners will usually simply concentrate on getting the shuttle over the net and into the right area of the court (Online Badminton). It is suggested that by flicking the
