corporate landscape, consulting has undergone a great deal of change as well. In this day and age, consultants and clients are more partners -- or at least for a successful
relationship, they need to be like partners. The problem here, is that though consultants might be essential for companies, companies are
somewhat lukewarm about the consultants working for them (Violino, 2005). In the IT field, especially, a particular survey found that nearly 60 percent of companies surveyed in terms of how
satisfied they were with their IT consultants, noted that they were "somewhat satisfied" (Violino, 2005). The main problem, the survey points out, is that consultants arent really sure what their
clients might want, or how they should go about satisfying the goals of said clients (Violino, 2005). The question we ask ourselves
here is, what is the best way to build a client-consultant relationship that is effective? Though some of the instructions were to use experiences gained from a particular consultancy project,
the purpose here is to analyze literature dealing with building strong client-consultancy relationships. Pacelli (2005) who has worked on both sides of
the consultant-client line (for both consulting company Accenture and corporation Microsoft) had provided a unique view and perspective on what, exactly, is needed to formulate a strong client-consultant bond.
