name of Slendertone, and the study itself was prepared by Michael J. Murphy, a professor from University College Cork. The interesting and
intriguing aspect of this particular study is thats Kevin McDonnell, the man who purchased a conglomerate that included Slendertone, had little experience in business, other than the area of accounting.
McDonnells goal has been to make Slendertone a multi-billion dollar business within twelve years of its purchase. By 1998, McDonnell was well on his way -- but his ultimate
goal was to make Slendertone a world-class brand that would be recognized by everyone. Though the case study itself provides some solutions
that Slendertone leader Kevin McDonnell has developed, the purpose of this paper is to discuss further how Slendertone can move from a manufacturer of an interesting product that some people
are aware of into a world-class brand that almost everyone knows. Background and Challenge The Slendertone saga began in 1966. This
company was originally developed by a company called BMR Ltd. in England -- and in 1968, the company moved to Shannon in Ireland, which was a tax free zone. BMRs
main product was a line of Electronic Muscle Stimulation devices that were under the brand name of Slendertone and Neuro-Tech -- this particular product line served in the cosmetic and
