differences are simple, but what intrigues social scientists the most are those traits and behaviors and their root causes that are not readily apparent or explainable. It has been determined
over the past decade that men and women develop language differently, utilize it for different purposes, and as such express themselves differently. However, body language, it would seem, is also
subject to the same inconsistencies between the sexes. Many researchers search for the answer to mankinds social riddles in the jungles of exotic locations. But, for many, the key
to understanding any human is to simply study them in their natural surroundings. Given this, then, one might gain just as great a perspective on the socio-cultural aspects of behavior,
simply by studying a group of people in a physical environment, such as the student laundry mat. The building itself is well-lit, though somewhat aged in appearance. Large front windows
look out onto the busy intersection of fifth and they are the only windows in the large open area where the washers and dryers are. There are two counters; one
at the entrance and one at the back of the building for dry cleaning purposes. Since this is a Tuesday night there are a fairly large number of people present,
more females than males. Most of the men seem to range in age from 20-25. It seems that upon observation that most Freshmen still take their laundry home to have
it done. Many of them are in a hurry and only carry one laundry basket full of mixed clothing. Most of the girls come in, in pairs. The guys
