benefit from emerging technologies. The problem is that while several business areas could use technology support, Baderman only has enough resources to fund one.
Baderman Island is an all-inclusive, self-contained resort destination, featuring three different hotels, restaurants and activities (including golf, a recreation center, a spa and shopping).
The management of the island has already invested some money in technology, creating a blog for guests to leave comments, about the island (and to
respond to previous guests comments) and the daily specials for all five island restaurants, featured online. While these two attempts to move into the wired world are good steps, they
arent necessarily the best ones. What well try to determine is which business area would benefit the most from technology. Well start
with three business areas, and recommend a different emerging technology for each one. Three Recommendations Its recommended that Baderman consider technology investment
in its restaurants, hotels or convention center. The reason were suggesting these three is because the hotels and restaurants provide visitors with the basic needs (i.e., shelter and food) when
they come to the island. Everyone needs a place to stay, and everyone needs a place to eat. Weve added the convention center to the mix because conventions tend to
pay off more quickly. Leisure travelers are certainly welcome - but convention travel offers the added benefit of more people coming in one group - and when they come, theyll
