The airline industry may be seen as a truly global, the spread and scope of travel has resulted in almost any point on the globe being within reach. Airlines
have became a major for of transportation and the way passengers have adapted and changed, adopting air travel as a form of transport has revolutionised the travel industry. To
consider this industry, which covers almost all areas of the globe, and its growth a single large market can be assessed, looking at the impact of the global industry in
this area and considering the drivers and influences that are seen. One area which has been slower to develop has been the airline industry within the Peoples Republic of China.
The development of the airline industry has been heavily influenced by the political and economic climate in the country. The changes and
political moves such as increasing international trade and joining the World Trade Organization and the development of the internal infrastructure has seen massive growth within the industry over the
last fee decades, the growth reflect the same growth seen in other parts of the world with a large lag effect, as well as the local factor conditions. The
industry we will consider is the passenger aviation industry in China. This include all passenger flight that land or take off in the Peoples republic of China which may be
domestic or international. We will start by looking at how and why we can define the industry as global, and then assess
the influences in terms of growth drivers, the issues that have influenced the performance over the last ten years and then consider one firm in the industry that has been
