paper describes the problems one woman, mid-40s, has with aging. Discussion In order to approach this project, well use a specific set of parameters to explore the womans
attitudes, including a description of her circumstances; a diagnosis of her problem(s); an explanation of the problems; and a prognosis. The subject: Samantha Johnson, is 43, recently divorced, and
a mother of two. She was married at 20 to her "high-school sweetheart," and got pregnant almost immediately. Her oldest child, a boy, is now 19; his younger
sister is 16; both are good students, but not exceptional. Samantha spends much of her time at the gym, beauty shop and the nail salon. She looks ten years
younger than her age, but it takes hard work for her to maintain the fa?ade, so much so that she is neglecting her relationships for her outward appearance. She
hates the idea of getting older. Despite her efforts Samanthas husband, who is also 43, left her for a woman nearly 15 years his senior. Samantha is facing the
necessity of entering the workforce, but has no experience at all. She is frightened and unsure of herself, and feels that she is too old to either gain a
good job or find a second husband. (She does like being married.) She also feels that if she hadnt gotten older, her husband would not have left.
Her house is a mess; she sleeps as much as 12 hours a day but eats almost nothing; and many days she simply sits and watches TV. She no
