Introduction A persons attitudes and behaviors are largely shaped by the stimuli they are exposed to. This
shaping often takes many forms. It is influenced by factors such as ethnic background, family size, parental influence and even their own gender and what society expects in terms
of behavior from that gender. Attitudes and behavior are in integral part of a persons identity and it is this identity which determines how the individual interacts with the
world around them. The formation of identity is both a developmental process and an environmental process (Pastorino et. al., 1997). Family,
friends, religion, and numerous other environmental factors interrelate to shape how a child perceives himself or herself, how they perceive the world and others around them (Pastorino et. al., 1997).
