such disorder probably will develop other, similar disorders ("Atopic"). Symptoms usually develop after three months of age and include "dry itchy skin on the face spreading to the trunk and
limbs" (Watkins). Prevalence of the Disease Atopic dermatitis is a "fairly common problem" that has become "more prevalent in the past half century" (Beltrani and Boguneiwicz). It is thought
that the increasing number of cases may be related to the way in which patient care is currently delivered; that is, managed care organizations "deter specialists consultations," leaving these patients
to the care of physicians who have less expertise in this area. The weakness in the treatment regimen was revealed at a conference in which "40 select physicians, including dermatologists
