When developing the program it is essential that this is reviewed, especially if this is a new approach which will impact on the way care is given and the working practices of the healthcare professionals. The strengths of the programs maybe noted, but most importantly, it is the areas where there maybe room for improvements that are sought out in order to maximise the potential of the program to realize its goals. The program has been put together in a comprehensive manner, and already incorporates human and task based elements. The utilisation of a change management process, such as that advocated by either living or Kotter, facilitates the inclusion of the human or employee centric aspects associated with introducing any change. The need to deal with human aspects, especially in a service industry, where it is not only the processes that are important in the delivery of a optimal quality service; it is also the accompanying attitudes and motivation. However, in a criticism of the educational program, it has become apparent that certain aspects of these change models, including input from the employees during the preparation stages, may be underrepresented. This is present in two areas; the first area is the preparation stages for the implementation of the programme, the second area is during the implementation process itself, and the way in which the actual process of implementation should be considered from the patient or clients perspective, rather than just from the practical perspective of the healthcare professional, in terms of efficiency.
