To assess the factors which should be included assessments are made of the practices and policies of fare trade companies in the SME in the UK and assess their commonality and use, The framework presented is made up of 16 measures of which 14 were found to be in practice. The framework is not presented as one that is definitive, but one that is suitable until further research develops more evolved model. Question 1 - The Paradigm The concept of ethics in business is increasingly important due to the way that the market and the environment is changing. In their research article Geoff Moore Richard Slack and Jane Gibbon (2009) look at the development of a model for criteria that can be used to assess small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) for responsible business practice, taking a critical approach. A critical approach is seen where there is a process that is intellectually disciplined which assesses, evaluates, synthesis, application or other analyses information (Bailin and Grafstein, 2009). In this articles there a focus on the use of existing information to determine a framework of 16 criteria that may be used by small to medium sized businesses when seeking to undertake responsible business practices (RBP).
