3.0, in which students are asked to read and respond to historically or culturally important works for grades 11 and 12. Because existing research suggests that multicultural educational
initiatives can improve academic function, this has become the directive for incorporating these kinds of educational plans in the classroom setting (Webb, 1990). This lesson plan describes the
use of a field approach to studying the multicultural nature of many urban communities. Specifically, this course provides students with the tools to seek out and experience some elements
of cultures outside of their own. While this lesson plan offers up a number of different types of experiences for students, including culturally-based experiences in communities, at cultural events
and in museums, this lesson appears to lack a direct instructional component, one that is clearly outlined. The author appears to list a large number of potential activities, perhaps
