As a part of its assessment of acceptable expansion sites, Riordan also needs to assess the state of technology and infrastructure in Singapore and Mexico, as
well as examining general non-economic points of the demography of each country. Singapore In 1960, Nepal shared the distinction of one of the
worlds poorest nations with one other: Singapore. It was in 1960 that Singapore released the first of a series of five-year plans that were interim steps on the
nations journey to building a solid, export-based economy and significantly enhancing the living standards of its people. In true Asian style, Singapores earliest
five-year plans did not address the end goal, but rather the foundations it would need to achieve its end goals. Earliest plans addressed infrastructure, education and other issues that
would affect Singapores attractiveness to foreign businesses in the future. Some of these other issues were tax structure, central banking, labor laws and social programs, issues that foreign nations
would consider when deciding whether to locate in Singapore and which had the ability to "tip the scale" in Singapores favor in decision processes. Technology and Infrastructure
Building literally from the ground up, one of the early five-year plans addressed physical infrastructure. Singapore occupies land area of 692.7 sq km, an area
