Such a balance is easy to achieve when one is dealing with basic matters, but to be sure there are many ways in which the events in ones personal life can threaten to dramatically derail ones work life, and vice versa. The birth of a child is one such event. Few events in life require greater concentration of focus and expenditure of time and energy than raising a newborn child. For this reason, people in such a situation often find that their work life suffers as a result. However, many businesses and organizations are attempting to combat this common problem by instituting programs to help new parents continue their work unabated while ensuring that their children are properly cared for, through on-site child care. Of course, such programs come at a cost to organizations. This paper will attempt to assess the organizational benefits of on-site childcare programs. This paragraph helps the student address some of the concerns faced by workers without access to child care. Having a child is typically a joyous event, and one to be celebrated.
