look at this by considering the stock from Delta Airlines. The way that stock can be evaluated makes use of a range if information. This looks at the industry
and also the company itself, mot only past performance and historical data, such as annual accounts, but knowledge of developments that are or may take place. The Airline industry
is one where there have been traditionally low margins. When this is combined with the events of September 11th 2001 when aircraft were hijacked by terrorists and flow into the
twin towers of the World Trade Centre. This drastically reduced the demand for air travel and as such airlines that and been profitable fell into loss, some even collapsed and
files for bankruptcy. The decrease in demand has seen many companies restructure, reduce services increase the importance of strategic alliances increased. The operations became more efficient and many companies have
now returned to profitability, but costs for security have also increased. Looking at Delta Airlines there have been some major difficulties, the 2001 figures were poor, the operating
margin was -11.5% and the 2002 figure was a lower loss at -9.8% the twelve months to date (2004) this is -5.9%. Therefore, we can see there is a gradual
movement. This may indicate that share bought at the moment may be a good investment as the price may be low, but the company looks like it is moving in
the right direction. However, when we look at the growth forecast this is limited, with an estimate of 7.3% over the next five years, when this is estimated at being
