fight for their fair share in the workplace. Unions have become an integral part of the contemporary workplace, in that they have come to represent and stand up for workers
rights. Without their guiding force on the important issues of money and benefits, individual workers would not possess the power to negotiate. What this means to the typical
family is clear: without the additional support provided for by unions, along with their power to acquire better incentives, the families financial burden would be considerable. For women in
particular, the infiltration of unions has meant that they at least have the opportunity to rise above the mandates of a patriarchal society and earn equivalent pay and benefits. Gender
discrimination in the workplace is an industry ill that has run rampant over the past couple of decades. Only within this time frame has society come to realize that
