controversial than in medicine. The use of computer technology in medicine, from research over human cloning to computer-driven prosthetics, has not developed without criticism. In recent years, the
progression of computer-based systems, including artificial intelligence and neural networks, have been central to major changes in the health care industry. Though just one example of the impact of
technology, views of the link between man and machine and the development of new technologies, including the human/computer interface and the development of artificial intelligence (AI), have been at the
heart of literature for decades. The use of different forms of artificial intelligence as predictors for medical and health research has been an element of the current literature for
some time. Emerging decision support systems (DSS), changing systems for medical prediction, and the application of new operational systems have all come into focus in the midst of the
sometimes shifting medical and health research paradigm (Payne, 2000). As a result, researchers have proposed the use of neural networks and genetic algorithms to provide new perspectives and innovative
ways to find profitable elements in health care and promote positive models for medical research (Rees, 1999). Understanding these different forms of artificial intelligence, neural networks and genetic algorithms, is
beneficial in considering their application for prediction models and medical research. Reflecting on the utility of these systems and the use of these elements relative to decision support systems
can provide support for decisions that are more precise than traditional investment models. At the same time, the use of these systems is not without question, and there are
some problems that relate to the use of these as predictions for change. Background "Artificial intelligence (AI) has been one of the most controversial domains of inquiry in
