group decides to have an hour of literacy on a daily basis. The introduction provides a good semblance of concerns, observations and suggestions but is a bit too subjective. The
introduction provides an array of knowledge about the subject as well as how the experiment with the literacy hour was received by teachers and participants. The introduction fails to go
further into the specificities of the project. No true summary of the experimentation was relayed. Of course, in a review of the entire article, it is admittedly light on specifics
anyway. Still, the introduction might have discussed methodology and the limitations of the study but avoided much about the content of the study. One good thing about the introduction is
the fact that it does delve into the motivation of the author as well as the motivation of others involved. At the same time, it is again very subjective and
does not relay quite enough information about the experiment itself. After the introduction, there is a question posed in the context of the entire article and the question is specifically:
"What do teachers in our schools value in literacy?" (Dadds, 1999, p. 9). This is a good question. It is often the case that many school systems do address the
problem but they do this in hit or miss fashion and hardly rely on experimentation or tried and true methods. Rather, many teachers introduce new literature such as the Harry
Potter series by J.K. Rowling as it has swept the school systems of the world and created a way in which teachers may interest students in respect to reading. However,
