competency model that is based on critical theory to the structure of an organization. The purpose of the study is to provide the historical and theoretical background to organizational
structure that is based on the creation of a competent organization. This includes the integration of critical theory as its basis, with a reflection on the application of critical
theory to organizational structure. This study, then, is non-experimental and provides a theory analysis of the existing research and long-standing views of critical theory. The authors conclusions are
based on the need to ensure that organizations respond to the needs of those who participate and reflect a high degree of competency. Statement of
Problem The authors position is that there is a need for increasing adequacy in organizational management as a result of the changing organizational structures of the modern era. The
two central theories that are introduced in this study are critical theory and the concept of the organizational competency model. Review of Literature The review of
literature used in this study relates the findings of a variety of different theorists, including the Frankfurt school theories (Horkheimer and Adorno, for example) as well as a number of
other philosophers and sociologists. The literature reflects the substantive nature of critical theory and the underlying reasons for the need for organizational competency. Teh authors purpose is based on
