Stead and Ivnacevich (1999) is the emerging use of diversity management as a means of attempting to increase the sense of inclusiveness in minority populations. The authors recognized that
this issue is in the rise and that organizations are attempting to manage their diversity since the end of active affirmative action programming. The central theories that are being
analyzed in relation to this view of existing research include the process of diversity management, the antecedents to diversity managment5, and the integration of models for diversity management that have
had positive outcomes. This study is a qualitative analysis of the current literature, with a focus on organizations that are implementing efforts to improve inclusiveness for under represented populations.
The author concludes, then, that it is beneficial to relate some of the findings at existing organizations and relate them to the concept of diversity management as a whole.
Statement of Problem The authors position is that diversity management has extended following the decline in affirmative action, and there are a number of organizations that have applied
the concept of diversity management to their overall management strategies. This process, then, has become the industry standard and reflects an increasing focus on the maintaining of workplace structures
that reduce the opportunity for negative managerial responses to issues of diversity. The two main theories that are assessed in this research study, then, are diversity management and the
conceptual model based on enhancing inclusiveness for minorities. Review of Literature The author argues that the views in the existing literature suggest some trends in terms of
