art, art is actually something that is very personal. In the world of art, in terms of what sells, art is generally directed by those who "run" the art world
and represent or promote one artists work or another in order to influence the movement. But, at the same time art has always emerged as very representative of its era,
its culture, and the changes in any given society. But, even then art still remains a very personal reality or, as people have a tendency to note, "I dont know
art but I know what I like." With that in mind the following paper provides a personal definition and interpretation of art, focusing on the work of Rivera, Dali, and
Sorolla. Art: Definition and Interpretation Art is essentially the expression of creativity or imagination and is specific to each particular artist.
Every artist will perceive the world around them in a very different way and the most powerful of artists have the ability to speak more universally than most. Some artists,
such as Joaquin Sorolla, Salvador Dali, Diego Rivera are widely recognized as having a universal appeal that speaks to many emotions and conditions.
In many ways these three artists were reacting to the world around them, the changes around them, and the conditions or events that troubled them either outright or symbolically. They
envisioned these realities and expressed themselves through their art. Rivera is well known for his murals that often depicted the chaotic realities of workers and the average struggling field workers
