graffiti and tattoos are one of the most powerful forms of expression, including artistic expression. However, in most cases graffiti is clearly an art form that people engage in whereas
tattoos are not often drawn by the person wearing them and as such are pieces of art that help someone express themselves. Both art forms are very important in the
modern culture of the United States, and also in many places around the world. The following paper examines three different pictures, presented by the student requesting this paper, of what
appear to be Chinese graffiti and one Chinese tattoo, presumably present all in the United States, and analyzes them in respect to their artistic presence. Art: Chinese Graffiti
and Tattoos The first picture to be analyzed and examined is what will be referred to as Domodomo Graffiti. This picture can be viewed at the following website: http://www.domodomo.com/images/graffiti_hk.jpg. This
graffiti is incredibly complex and colorful, filled with detail. It appears to be painted on a structure that could well be a street light utility box. It is located in
a city, evidenced by the buildings in the background and the street. It is not a busy moment in the picture, however, as it relates to the city life.
It is a flat surface and the primary color seems to be a fluorescent type orange/pink, though there are many colors throughout this piece. It is topped, with the only
element that appears to be a border, with a line of black paint that has many different figures or elements within. In the center of the piece are many
different (Chinese?) letters and they seem to exist in a cloud of sorts, giving the viewer the impression it could be a character speaking, or that it could be a
