is to stave off chaos; without maintaining a chain of command within the structural unit of authority, there can be no sense of stability where people are arbitrarily applying their
own interpretation. This is no more prevalent than in the Army, inasmuch as the fundamental aspect of the chain of command reflects a dutiful obligation to establish structure and
facilitate the critical element of cohesion. The system of checks and balances perpetuated by a well-functioning chain of command helps to eliminate problems that otherwise might develop when subordinates
take control of a situation that should be addressed through these principle bodies of military leaders. To eschew the intrinsic value of a
chain of command in relation to duty is to overlook the need for authoritative structure within the internal components of the military if there is ever to be any semblance
