can be used to help a solider regain 100% functioning. Discussion A "physical profile" or "medical profile" in the sense the Army uses the term is a record of a
persons physical condition, and whether or not they are fit for service. This is not a trivial matter; a number of soldiers have died during exercise, which means that "medical
providers need to be more consistent in excluding military personnel from vigorous exercise when heir medical profile indicates high risk" (Gardner, 2002). A military medical profile is generated by
the military, which has developed a "medical profile indicator, known as the physical profile serial system" (Powers, 2008). The profile is based mostly on the "function of body systems and
their relation to military duties" (Powers, 2008). The functions have been listed under six letters: "P-U-L-H-E-S" where "P" stands for "physical capacity or stamina" (Powers, 2008). This classification is largely
concerned with "general physical capacity" and encompasses all such things as heart condition, the respiratory system, the endocrine system and so on (Powers, 2008). It has to do with the
major systems/organs in the body. The "U" stands for "upper extremities" and is concerned with the upper body, mostly in connection with "strength, range of motion, and general efficiency" (Powers,
2008). It also includes the upper spine (Powers, 2008). The "L" is concerned with the lower extremities, the "feet legs, pelvic girdle, lower back musculature and lower spine" (Powers, 2008).
The "H" is for "hearing and ears"; the "E" is for "eyes," and the "S" is for psychiatric matters (Powers, 2008). By "breaking down" the persons profile in this way,
doctors can determine where the problems lie and what sort of program will be most effective in overcoming them. (The Physical Training Manual, Publication FM 21-20, has protocols for soldiers
