1. What does Aristotle mean by political science and practical wisdom? How dos it differ from philosophy? Which is higher? For Aristotle, politics or political science is the same as
ethics. One cannot separate political ideology with ethical thought. In Politics, Aristotle speaks much about virtue. The philosopher also investigates life in the world around him through theology. Where else
would one obtain his or her morality? One might argue that goodness is intrinsic but even so, it would be consistent with religious doctrine. It is further consistent with spirituality.
Because people are human beings, their intrinsic nature is connected with a greater power, whether it is recognized or not. Thus, it does seem that Aristotle aligned his thought about
political order with the spiritual more than the practical. His ideas about the rule of law are a reflection of his beliefs. Aristotle does delve into the nature of other
animals, as after all, if one were to say that man alone is a political animal, he or she best prove the point. Aristotle does, and it does not take
