on the Mount, Matthew 5-7, is said to be the most often cited verses in the Bible. In these two Chapters, Jesus tells the people how to live their lives,
it is a pattern for living. The Chapter begins with nine Blessings, four more are found in Luke 6:20-22, together, these are the Beatitudes Christians refer to. These are direct
Blessings from God and in themselves, reflect behaviors, beliefs and attitudes God blesses and expects of any who claim to follow Jesus Christ. But, there are more lessons in Matthew
5-7 that discuss sins, warnings and expectations. For instance, Christ refers to the old law that calls for an eye for an eye and warns His disciples that this is
not the way to live. He also tells the people to love their enemy and to pray privately. The good person follows these directions and lessons from Christ.
Ones salvation in Heaven is dependent upon having faith in Jesus and in following His commands. He lays out a way to live and in these verses, Christ makes it
clear that it is not the one who has riches and fame who will enter His Fathers Kingdom. Happiness will be found only when we live by these Words. That
happiness may not be found during our earthly lifetimes, rather, it is in our eternal life that our happiness will be gained. In the Aim of Man, Aristotle seems to
be following the traditional Greek philosophy in terms of goodness, at least partially. Aristotle says: "since all knowledge and all purpose aims at some good, what is it that we
