Some people argue against abortion through religious ideals, whereas the people who generally argue for abortion argue on the grounds of Supreme Court decisions as well as human rights. With these basic foundations in mind the following paper argues against abortion. The paper argues that no matter ones thought, the truth is that a fetus is a living and growing human being and putting an end to its growth is murder. Argument Against Abortion First and foremost, the argument herein will not argue against all abortions. There are times, and situations, wherein a womans life is at risk when she is pregnant, such as the case with an ectopic pregnancy. In such cases abortion, for health reasons, should be permissible and legal. The argument against abortion is an argument against abortion as a means of simply eliminating a fetus for personal reasons. As mentioned in the introduction, many people who argue against abortion do so with religious ideals in mind. However, one need not be religious or Christian to believe that abortion is wrong, and that abortion is murder. One need not rely on the words in the Bible to argue that abortion is murder. As one work, and a work that uses the Bible to support their arguments, states, "It is never right to kill an innocent person. Some might maintain that the Supreme Court has determined that fetuses are not persons. But the Court also once said that blacks were not persons" (Baird; Rosenbaum 196).
