Like so many global communities that are recognizing the inherent human rights attributable to the female gender, Taiwan is in the midst of a metamorphosis unlike anything in

oppressive nature of a patriarchal society. To say that Taiwanese women have had to fight for their existence amidst centuries of patriarchal
control would be a gross understatement and one that would also be staunchly supported by the likes of contemporary Taiwanese women themselves. Indeed, the road to female freedom and
self-expression has been paved with patriarchal intolerance and characteristic skepticism forcing Taiwanese women to prove their worthiness within the oppressively stringent boundaries of a male-dominated existence, which speaks volumes about
