What we can do, however, is to consider one aspect of strategic management - implementation of strategy. Even here, we must make certain assumptions. For example, we assume one
of the companys objectives is to gain market share, i.e., get customers, and another is to realize a profit. We also assume that a corporate Web site is intended
to market the companys products in such a was as to entice customers to purchase the product or service. In other words, the Web site is a strategy. The Deloitte
& Touche USA LLP Web site is busy. By that, I mean the home page has a great deal of text on it. However, much of the text are hyperlinks
to specific kinds of information. This particular site (http://www.deloitte.com/dtt/home/0%2C1044%2Csid%25253D2000%2C00.html) is addressed to Chief Financial Officers. The user is sent immediately to this site by typing in the URL address: http://www.deloitte.com.
If Deloittes strategy is to provide information, they succeed. If the strategy is intended to get the users attention quickly, something all marketing techniques should do, it fails. The
site does not even identify the companys major services and products at the top; it does so at the bottom: Audit.Tax.Consulting.Financial Advisory. The side does provide excellent information, with topics
such as Sarbane-Oxley regulations, real case studies involving the companys services, and research reports on different topics. There are numerous links to documents and information. This free information could well
