It was their success with their first Apple computers that gave us the term user-friendly and even with the dramatic advances in technology, todays Mac computer is still the easiest computer to use. Furthermore, as any Mac user will tell you, once you learn the basics of the Mac itself and you have experience with one or two applications, like Microsofts Office Suite, the Mac user can install any application and use it right now. Apple Inc., as everyone knows, has expanded in numerous ways since those early days. Today, they have the most desired Smart Phone, the iPhone. Before that, Apple introduced the world to the iPod. While many have copied the iPod, no one can yet copy the iPhone. They will always lack one thing and that is the Apple operating system. Success did not come easily. It is all embedded in the corporate culture and the fierce commitment of the company. Initially, Apple Computer initiated a three-prong approach to assure effectiveness: develop the right organizational structure, one that lends itself to innovation and teamwork; develop cooperative alliances with both suppliers and customers; and create an environment in which innovating and creativity will flourish (Armstrong, 2001). Anyone who knows the history of Apple knows that Steve Jobs was not an easy person to work for or with. There was a time he would become very upset very easily and if someone did not measure up, Jobs would just fire them. Yet, because this was such a revolutionary idea, employees stayed.
