Jake sued for the return of the property, which consisted of a 1987 Jaguar, 3 compact disc players, a diamond ring, a hot tub and a snowmobile. Jake lost the trial court action. was submitted shortly thereafter in defense of Jakes position. The issue at hand is whether or not Jake is entitled to the return of the property or, if that is
not either reasonable or feasible, half the money acquired from the sale of these items. Being that Arizona is a community property state, Betsy is bound by the laws
of that state with regard to the property that was a) Jakes prior to marriage and b) theirs together during marriage. Community property, which also goes by the phrase
marital property, speaks of the items acquired throughout the marriage; as such, it is crucial to the outcome of this case that the court is fully cognizant of when each
of the items in question was purchased. Also of significant concern is the fact that when Jake left Betsy to take up residence once again with Laverne, he moved
out of state to do so; by law, because Jake and Betsy lived as a married couple in a community property state, this status is not relinquished when one or
