free world, on capitalism, on the Judeo-Christian tradition and on all the values that many hold dear. While that is the case, it seems that to some extent, the Americans
have lost perspective or have been brainwashed by a media that is not objective. It is hard to say that the media is under government control. It is not. However,
it is still deemed insensitive to show any understanding for the other side. Although it is not as if America condemns all Muslims, shortly after the attacks there were actions
that resembled what went on in Shirley Jacksons Lottery. There were in fact very strong reactions to 911. The violent acts were few and far between, but certainly they showed
a disdain for Muslims. President Bush quickly announced that the people would need to maintain calm, and that the war was not with the Muslims, but with the evil-doers. Indeed,
there are many Muslims in the United States and throughout the world who condemn the attacks. They are not associated with terrorism whatsoever and even maintain a religion that goes
to peace. It should be clear that Muslims are generally a peace-loving people. If so, why are Americans against the people who practice the religion? Why is there an anti-Middle
East sentiment? By and large, Americans get the news from American media and it seems that the American Press has colored its reports with a strong anti-Arab sentiment. In many
ways, this phenomenon has shaped the attitudes and the will of the people and can be deemed as dangerous. It should be said that of course not all Americans
