many things that frighten us, if we understand something about the bacteria Anthrax, and how it is treated, our fears are lessened. In the following paper we discuss the bacteria
Anthrax and also discuss the primary antibiotic used to kill Anthrax. The paper also discusses other antibiotics in use against Anthrax. Anthrax There are generally two kinds of well
known Anthrax. These are the two that are the most talked about recently and are the cutaneous (skin) and inhalation types. There is also an intestinal type, but that causes
little problems and is primarily limited to the bacteria as it resides in meat. The forms of cutaneous and inhalation are very different in terms of their deadly nature and
their ability to be killed through antibiotics. In the following we see a brief description of the bacteria, and a description of the two types being examine: "Anthrax is caused
by the bacterium Bacillus anthracis and is a disease of sheep, cattle, horses, goats, and swine. Human infection is rare, but it is an occupational disease of farm workers, veterinarians,
and tannery and wool workers. It is also an agent in international arsenals for potential germ or biological warfare. The disease has a skin form (cutaneous anthrax) and a pulmonary
(lung) form. In the pulmonary form, infection is spread by breathing in spores that germinate and cause pneumonia. The pneumonia develops rapidly and leads to progressive respiratory distress. Death can
