non-fatal violence frequently precedes fatal violent encounters. Therefore, this research team hypothesized that determination of factors predicting the violence related non-fatal injuries could provide meaningful data to policymakers concerning this
problem. The team analyzed data from 14,787 adolescents participating in the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, a school-based sampling of representation American youth. This statistical analysis explored various factors,
such as youth witnessing or being a victim of violence and computed confidence level of the predictive factor for both sexes. This descriptive information was interpreted and the results found
that factors such as substance abuse, academic achievement and both physical and mental health were predictive regarding the study participants incurring a fight-related injury requiring medical attention. This studys results
