New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Law. In specific, it talks about the ways in which insights developing from the journal and Associations research have impacted local law and
policies in "forensic psychology and psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand". As such, it provides an instructive example of how the work of psychiatrists and psychologists interact with law and
the legal system. Freiberg, A. (2011). Psychiatry, psychology, and non-adversarial justice: From integration to transformation. Psychiatry, Psychology, and Law, 18(2), 297-314. This article appears in the journal
"Psychiatry, Psychology, and Law", and follows the trend set forth by the above Freckleton editorial, in that it enumerates several important psychological studies and the "contribution they have made to
the development of law and legal practice". In the first case, it discusses a study which led to the adoption of therapeutic jurisprudence, or a legal doctrine which allows judges
to prescribe therapies as a part of the standard legal process. For instance, if an individual is shown to have a substance abuse disorder, a judge might prescribe substance abuse
