inner knowing that something is the right thing to do while another choice is simply wrong. It is sometimes difficult to know right from wrong. If something resonates at a
gut level, or one can feel that something is right or wrong, that is usually described as the utilization of intrinsic knowledge. People are born knowing. New Age theorists suggest
that people are remembering who they really are when they discover truths about themselves. While many people do use a rather lackadaisical approach to figuring out how to make moral
choices, it is also the case that some people subscribe to a set of rules. There are people who follow a particular religion or dictum that comes from groups of
people that adhere to a certain philosophy. Many people for example who oppose animal cruelty choose to eat a certain way as to minimize the ingestion of animals. These individuals
sometimes dubbed animal rights activists often adhere to a set of instructions. Vegans for example live a lifestyle that does not include the use of animal products at all, while
vegetarians simply do not consume meat. Dependent upon the type of philosophy one attaches himself to, the individual will not eat products that come from the animal such as eggs.
Some vegetarians also eat fish. Again, the rules very dependent upon the particular philosophy to which one is attached. The approach to animal rights is sensible. If someone really subscribes
to the idea that animals should be treated like human beings, and that they deserve to have rights, then such an individual should not eat the animals. And while some
