Animal Farm and the Russian Revolution. ANIMAL FARM Knowing that his book Animal Farm was written in 1945 when Communism was at its height of political commentary, it is
easy to see how George Orwell pursued his wish to make public his views of capitalism and communism. Animal Farm is a well-written book whether one chooses to compare
it to Russia or not; it gives the reader a chilling view of how crowds can be swayed in their opinion by just one well-polished orator. Animal Farm, while
definitely based on the Russian Revolution, can actually be compared to so many things in the world, even today. One of its main lessons is that very few people
are willing to take a stand on what they believe in and stick with it no matter what the masses are doing. An important aspect to remember, however, is that
if one were a Russian peasant in that time period after the Second World War, it would be easy to be persuaded that a better life lay ahead in the
fair and easy (yet deceitful) life of communism. How does George Orwell relate all of this to animals, however? As George Orwells great classic Animal Farm opens,
