representation of mankind in the pursuit of happiness as well as power. Bearing these realities in mind the following paper examines four different perspectives concerning Orwells novel. The paper discusses
the theme of failed revolution, the character of Napoleon and dictatorship, what possible suggestions may work in the environment of Animal Farm as presented by an appointed consultant, and lastly
the paper examines how the Richard Attenborough film "Gandhi" offers us a look at what a change agent could offer to Animal Farm. Failed Revolution As is often
the case in revolution, there is an ideal that is quickly suppressed when an individual comes into power. Revolutions are often incited because conditions are less than positive and there
happens to be an individual who seems to speak for the people, or the animals in this case. Under the leadership of a revolutionary many groups find hope and they
follow blindly, hoping for positive change. This was clearly the case in Orwells story as the animals, under the leadership of the pigs, decided to rid the farm of the
farmer, the oppressor. However, once the pigs were in place and the rules established, the farm animals found themselves under another oppressive presence. And, this oppressive presence grew more powerful,
day after day, due to the fact that no clear ideals were firmly established in the first place. It is true that they came up with their own rules but
these rules were not established prior to the uprising. If the revolution were to have worked it would have been necessary for them all to agree to a plan that
