turbulent age. Unlike artists who like to keep to themselves, or not make a name for themselves, Warhol was very well known. His persona was rather wild in the
scheme of things, even for the era. Still, Andy Warhol would contribute to the popular culture as well as to art as it is known. His insightful ideas are right
on target. Andrew Warhol was born in 1928 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania ("Andy Warhol Biography," 2008). He entered the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1945 and when he graduated, moved
to New York where he became a full fledge commercial artist ("Andy Warhol Biography," 2008). Vogue, The New Yorker and Harpers Bazaar were just a handful of publications at which
he worked ("Andy Warhol Biography," 2008). He also helped design the window displays for stores like I. Miller and Bonwit Teller ("Andy Warhol Biography," 2008). His first assignment was actually
for Glamour ("Andy Warhol Biography," 2008). This is how he got his start, but he would become well known for more personal contributions. One can begin to see that Warhol
would make his mark in the advertising industry with attention to fashion. During the 1950s, Andy Warhol would be successful and even receive praise from the Art Directors Club as
well as from the American Institute of Graphic Arts ("Andy Warhol Biography," 2008). It was at this time that Andrew would take the last name Warhol ("Andy Warhol Biography,"
