presented herein. CASCADIA MEDIA COLLECTIVE According to this groups website they portray themselves to be, in their own words, "an uncompromising group of videographers producing left of left videos
on resistance to environmental destruction, political demonstrations and the collapse of the techno-capitalist era" (Cascadia Media Collective, 2002, PG). This group has produced several films that might appeal to
the mainstream and yet at the same time send a different message from that of the regular media that most people are used to seeing. Cascadia uses a more
radical approach in its search for current answers to the worlds problems, problems that include political, environmental and other controversial subjects. THE HISTORY OF CASCADIA This independent anarchist
group started with a magazine called War Time News that they passed out on street corners. This magazine is now available online as an e-zine and the group suggests
it can also be downloaded and printed out so that it can be handed out as flyers to anybody. Cascadia gets their name out to the public through their
Internet presence, their free flyers and their radical and attention-getting actions including protests, marches, and actual shouting on street corners. The main purpose of Cascadia at this point is their
video media collection. They have created many videos which are for sale on their website. These include such titles as Umpqua: Oregons Threatened Paradise, Alive! In the Streets:
