Does the text integrate "advances and scientific tendencies" into our daily lives; does it is integrate "in a single book most of the thoughts, theories and discoveries of the present
scientists" and does it do this in an "accessible way and with an ample range of applications that are concrete and practical"? Let us examine
the last point first, since accessibility is one of the most notable features of What the Bleep . .. The authors state at the outset that their intended audience is
not the academic, scientific community, but the ordinary person: in particular, the person who is dissatisfied with their life as it is, but does not know how to start exploring
the issues which the authors refer to as the great questions. As a result, the style in which the text is written is simple, conversational, and designed to guide the
layperson through fairly complex scientific and philosophical concepts without using a great deal of specialized, esoteric jargon. In the introduction, Arntz et al
present the idea that "its only by asking questions, challenging the assumptions and the truths taken for granted at any given time, that science progresses" (Arntz et al 2007) and
then go on to say that the same principle should be applied in ones personal life: "when you break free of your assumptions about yourself, you will grow more than
you ever thought possible" (Arntz et al 2007). The authors are, indeed, correct about the process by which scientific knowledge advances. Kuhn (1970),
