With three business segments which include health care, animal health and consumer health care, Pfizer has the market well covered. Pfizer products are available in more than one hundred fifty countries. The combination of Pfizer and Warner-Lambert is a winning one which makes the company not just bigger but better as well. Because both of these pharmaceutical companies are among the best in the industry, there is no doubt that Pfizer has a definite positive outlook for the long-term. According to the Pfizer website, "the complementary nature of the product lines of the two companies reflects the similar fit of their research and development organizations. The combined company R&D budget for 2000 is about $4.7 billion, by far the largest in the industry" (Pfizer PG). This is important to know, that the company will not be resting on past successes but intends to remain as innovative and research oriented as it has been in the past. The company is also a good neighbor, having a high profile public image with a positive impact on the community. In fact, "In 1999, Pfizer and Warner-Lambert and their Foundations made about $50 million in charitable contributions, while donating more than $220 million worth of products to assist low-income, uninsured patients" (Pfizer PG).
