Bush does not want to use will be destroyed down the road. Also, the author explains that in the course of nature, embryos are destroyed anyway. The basic argument is
that embryos are really not vialbe in and of themselves. He is not advocating creating life to destroy it, but wonders why people like him--with Parkinsons Disease--are not afforded the
opportunity to watch scientists try to find a cure. His argument is quite sensible. Many people agree and in fact, the Reagan family has seemed to turn that way
since the president himself was afflicted with a condition that research might cure. At the same time, on the other side of the aisle are those who contend that activists
for stem cell research are misrepresenting the potential of research with embryo stem cells and the fact that these are really not needed to do research. There are other biological
components that may be used for research. One can see that the other side of the argument does make sense too. Why open the door to possible problems where mad
scientists are creating babies just to harvest their organs and so forth when what is being done is sufficient to make medical progress? Of course, the other side of that
is succinctly stated by Kinsley (2003) which is: "In vitro fertilization...is now a routine treatment for couples with fertility problems. It involves the fertilization of eggs to produce embryos outside
the womans body. Generally, only a few of these are implanted in the womb with each attempt. The rest are stored and eventually discarded. So why cant embryos destined for
