as assisting victims of disasters there is also a role played in preventing and relieving suffering. However, like any other organizations there are many pressures and pulls in the resources
and with the organization responding to about 70,000 disasters each there is a need for a high level of revenue income (American Red Cross, 20081). The problem is that just
as in any industry or economy sector there will be competition, barriers and challenges which the NGO has to deal with when determining future strategies. In order to assess American
Red Cross a SWOT analysis can be used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. With an understanding of the organization and its environment it is then possible to

the well known disaster relief, as well as the provision of community services to help those in need, support for military personnel and their families, the blood collection services collecting
